At the 2006 Frieze Art Fair, 14-15 October, I collaborated with artist Joanna Callaghan on For Love and Money, a radio project broadcast live from the fair by Resonance 104.4FM.

The shows included a mix of conversations with artists, curators and other arts professionals around the visual arts and its various economies - notions such as use and intrinsic value judgements, generosity, discrepancies between art sales and artists pay, the artists resale royalty right introduced in the UK in February 2006 and the exclusivity of much of the visual arts 'world' in London.

Along with these discussions, Joanna and I played five specially commissioned sound pieces and live performances, the broadcasting of which made up the bulk of the programmes. The commisions were intended specifically to give a platform for artists usually excluded from Frieze - those without major international gallery representation - and to provide the opportunity for those artists to creatively contribute to the debates in the show. Each commission was based on a concept uncovered during our previous radio show, Show Me The Monet, also broadcast on Resonance 104.4FM, in August 2006.

As well as commissioned works, there were a number of works sent in response to an open call for submissions which were played; in total, thirteen artists had their work presented on the show.

More information, including MP3's of the shows available for download, can be found on the For Love and Money website.
